So after a few days of ups and downs that saw the Toronto Maple Leafs lose to the then last place Edmonton Oilers in hilarious fashion 5-0 but then pull of a pretty nice win over the Boston Bruins 3-2 in a shootout, which was awesome because Phil Kessel won the shootout against his former team, the Leafs head to Washington to face the Capitals in what many Leaf fans thought would be a blowout for the Capitals. However after the game Leafs Nation was jumping back on the bandwagon and left Ovechkin and the Capitals dumbfounded.
The game started out normal enough, Washingon scores to make it 1-0. But next Clare MacArthur breaks his goal-less streak and ties it at 1-1. Everyone is playing well including Gustavsson who is having a great season so far. Cue the blowout in 3, 2, 1.........scores 2-1 Washington, scores 3-1 Washington. Ovechkin across the line shoots, scores 4-1 Washington. So the Capitals are up 4-1 in the third period and looks lke it will be another loss for Toronto. Wait Grabovski scores and it's 4-2, oh well it's still to late, Kadri to Kaberle, Kaberle shoots and it's tipped by Tim Brent and it's 4-3. 4-3 with two minutes left and Clarke MacArthur ties it up it's 4-4. So it's in a shootout and Grabovski pulls a spin-o-rama and the Leafs win 5-4.
So yeah It's all good in Leafs Nation right now.

After November 30th, have we finally hit rock bottom?
So after the debacle last night can it be fair to say we have finally hit rock bottom? Probably not but panic is starting to set in for me. During that 4-0 run at the beginning I was on the bandwagon like everyone else, during the losing streak I was still believing that there will be a light at the end of the tunnel for us Leaf Fans.
Then the Tampa Game happens.
Right off the bat Versteeg gets a goal and its 1-0 for us. Then Tampa scores but no big deal it's still 1-1. Then the extreme happy moment, Kulemin scores twice and it's 3-1 FOR THE LEAFS!!!!!!!!! Alright we got this one right? No way Tampa is going to score two goals in the third period right? Why is it 3-2? Yep Marty St. Louis scores to make it 3-2. Now i'm going insane and cringing during every shot that Tampa takes (Mike Brown is my new hero for those awesome shot blocks). Last minute of play in the third we got this. Shot by Tampa NICE SAVE GUSTAVSSON. 15 seconds left as the faceoff is in our end. My face is right up against the television as we win the draw to the boards, yes we got this is what runs through my mind. The puck gets battled for in the half-boards and Stamkos gets it to St. Louis. 8 seconds left, St. Louis winds, fires, scores.........Yeah. By now a string of obscenities are flying out of my mouth but we still got the overtime right? We can still win right? Nope. Simon Gagne gets his first as a Lightning and the Leafs lose 4-3.
I sat in front of my television for a few seconds in disbelief until I firmly embedded my remote inside my television. We may not be at rock bottom but we still are close. Hopefully we can win against the last place Oilers, though hilarious fate will probably prove otherwise. Here's to being a Leaf fan
